Lundy Summer Term 2025

16/5/25

A massive well done to all of the Y6 children for completing their SATs tests this week! I am super proud of their effort and their attitude.  They should all be very proud of themselves.

Y5 children have worked hard at their maths, focusing on division and problem solving.  In English we have been developing our punctuation skills in multi-clause sentences and using adverbials to give the authors point of view in biography writing.  In history, we have been looking at symbols left by Stone-age man and have been trying to work out their meaning.

8/5/25

We have learning to write multi-clause sentences for biographies in English.  The children have been researching the person they are going to write about; thinking carefully about selecting key facts that they will use in their biographies.   In maths, the Y5 children have been problem solving with calculations, and learning to estimate answers. Y6 have been practicing SATs questions, demonstrating their reasoning skills.  Once again, I am very proud of the Y6 children for the amazing effort they have put in this week.   The Y5 children have been developing their detective skills and drawing conclusions in history.

2.5.25

We have learning about biographies in English.  The children have chosen an inspirational person who they would like to write about.  In maths, the Y5 children have been focusing on calculations, while Y6 have been revising lots of different topics for SATs.  I am very proud of the Y6 children for the amazing effort they have put in this week – only 1 more week of hard work to go!   We have begun learning about the Stone Age – this terms topic.
