Freedom of Information Act 2000
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 confers a general right for any person to access information which is held by a public authority (subject to certain exclusions).
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, schools must adopt a model publication scheme which has been approved by the Information Commissioner.
Schools must also publish a guide to information that accompanies that publication scheme which specifies documents that are available, the format of those documents and any charges relating to the provision of the information.
