On Wednesday evening we held our first meeting of the year, it was a busy meeting with lots of great ideas being discussed and plans starting to be put together. As soon as we confirm dates for these events we will be letting you all know via email and facebook posts.
For now, something we wish to continue into our winter term that has been well received will be the Christmas Jumper Thrift shop. We already have some jumpers left over or donated to us already for Christmas 2022 and we would welcome any others that you are wishing to donate. Please send them in with your child/ren and they will be collected and put away for the year by the PTFA and kept safe ready for next Christmas. Donations can be made at any time, thank you!
We have received some amazing donations so far from local businesses for our raffle prizes and we look forward to sharing the prizes on offer over on the PTFA Facebook page soon.
If you feel you would like to donate items for our hampers, we have some of the following ideas:
Please send in any donations with your children by Friday 3rd December.
Tickets will be sent home as soon as possible.
The raffle will be drawn on Monday 13th December.
Christmas is around the corner....we know it's still November but the PTFA are busy planning. Please see below our Christmas events and details for this year:
Christmas Jumpers – Thank you to those of you who have already donated your jumpers. All jumper donations can be handed in to your child’s class teacher no later than the morning drop off on Friday 26th November.
The Christmas Jumper thrift shop will be in the school hall on Monday 29th November from 3pm.
If we have remaining jumpers left over we will open the shop again on the Tuesday at the same place and time. Check the Bishops Tawton PTFA facebook page for this update, give our page a follow if you haven’t already and keep up to date with future events.
A couple of requests; as we will be on school premises and close proximity, we would politely request that masks are worn and there will be hand sanitiser available as you enter and leave the hall.
Please have the correct money with you to pay for your preloved jumpers.
Christmas Shop – Each year all the children are invited to buy presents for members of their family/loved ones. We are currently being busy elves and finding gifts for your children to choose for you all.
The gifts are £3 each and every child may choose up to 2 presents.
Please pay for your gifts for each of your children on eduspot by Monday 29th November. (Edupsot payment will be available for this later in the week). Children will be choosing their gifts the following week and they will be sent home with them by their teachers but no peeking until Christmas Day! Please make sure your child has a carrier bag in their book bag ready for bringing the gift/s home.
Christmas Raffle – More busy elves are putting together a Christmas Raffle for you all. Tickets will be sent home as soon as possible with your children and they will also be available to purchase at the 2 Christmas Celebration evenings on 7th & 9th December. The tickets will be £1 each, please speak to family and friends and ask if they would like buy tickets too.
Raffle to be drawn the last week of school, time and location to be confirmed.
12th November 2021
It’s nearly that time of year again where the children will be wearing their jumpers into school on certain days during December. As a PTFA we would like to hold a Xmas Jumper Thrift Shop! In a world where we are encouraged to reuse and recycle as much as possible we would like to do our bit to help.
Donate your clean, good condition Christmas jumper from next week (15th -26th November) and they will be sorted and sold for £1 each the following week ready for December.
Details to follow on where you can leave donated items and buy your new Christmas jumper soon.
The PTFA were delighted to fully fund the Stone Age visitor for KS2. We hear from the children it was a great success with them all learning lots and even getting to hunt a Mammoth! Thank you to the KS2 staff for organising it.
