January has been and gone, the lighter nights are upon us and we are starting to put together some plans for all the children!
Below is some information regarding upcoming events.
Some dates for your calendars are:
Friday 18th February – Sweet Sale afterschool
Wednesday 2nd March – 7.30pm PTFA meeting, venue TBC
Wednesday 6th April – Spring Fayre
On-going – Asda green token scheme
While it is too chilly for ice lolly sales we will be holding some variations over the next few months until it is warmer. On the first occasion it will be a sweet sale, which will consist of pre-bagged sweets at 50p per bag sold after school on the top and bottom playgrounds. Older children are welcome to bring in their money with them into school and purchase as they leave at the end of the day. The bags cater for vegetarians and please make sure you have the correct change for us.
PTFA Meeting- All parents are welcome to join the PTFA committee at any time throughout the year and we hope to be back meeting in person really soon. We are always grateful for help, ideas and support so please speak to any of us if you would like to know some more information about being part of the committee or being a PTFA helper.
Spring Fayre – this will be much like previous Summer and Christmas Fayres but we have switched it up this year to have a different theme. There will be stalls and activities for your children to take part in with lots of ideas which we are busy planning. The event will be held straight after school and we will be set up for you to come and visit us as soon as you collect your children at the end of the day. We hope for some sunshine and it will be lovely to have families on site with some fun thrown in! If would be able to volunteer some time on the day then please let us know, even half an hour would be very much appreciated and helpful for us.
Last week we had confirmation that the PTFA have been nominated for the Asda Green Token scheme. Our PTFA is up against two other organisations, the winner will receive £500, second place receive £400 and third place receive £300. All money that we raise/receive throughout the year goes back into the school and is beneficial to all the children during their time at Bishops Tawton so your votes are really important to us and we are very grateful. Due to covid changing how businesses conduct their schemes the vote is now online; please visit asda.com/green-tokens search for Barnstaple and then select Bishops Tawton PTFA. Please ask family and friends to support us if they wish, you can vote weekly and you can use multiple devices to cast a vote. This will be ongoing for a few weeks so please try and vote as often as you can. Thank you
The PTFA were delighted to fully fund the Stone Age visitor for KS2. We hear from the children it was a great success with them all learning lots and even getting to hunt a Mammoth! Thank you to the KS2 staff for organising it.
