PTFA

Welcome to Bishops Tawton PTFA page!

The Parent, Teachers and Friends Association are very active both in providing social activities and in fundraising. We regularly organise events and fundraisers and even throughout Covid have had the Christmas Market, Christmas cards, numerous ice lolly sales and our biggest Summer Raffle ever!

We help provide the school with a range of equipment, including class cameras, playtime toys, football kit, sports equipment and high quality books. We have paid for both bears to ease transition into Reception and celebrations for the children leaving in Year 6. We also subsidise a number of school trips and visitors for every year group from pre-school to year 6.

We are currently meeting in a combination of online and in person to cater for various Covid restrictions and also help more people to join in without childcare to sort!  If you would like to join us as we continue to raise funds for our school community, you will be very welcome. We are very grateful for all support in providing our children with the best resources and experiences possible.

Remember to look at our Facebook group for posts with all the latest notices and events and look out for updates on the school newsletter.

We look forward to meeting you,
The PTFA team

It's the festive season for the PTFA and the school family!

We have lots of plans coming up, so please read on for more details...

Firstly, a reminder of the disco on Friday 25th November in the village hall. Booking is open via Eduspot and closes on Friday 18th, so don't miss out!
Pre-school, Reception and KS1 from 5pm-6pm, KS2 6.15pm-7.15pm
A drink and snack for the children is included in the price of £3.50.
There will be a space available for waiting parents, and refreshments served, so bring some spare change if you will be waiting.

Now onto the festive fun!

We are trying something new this year, and are offering a table wreath making workshop for the grown ups in the school hall on Wednesday 30th November at 7pm. We hope this will be a fun, affordable, creative social for parents to get together while raising a few funds for the school! Tickets are £15 on Eduspot, and the ticket includes all materials and a glass of wine. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

The Christmas Shop is back again on Monday 5th December, and we are delighted that it's running in its old traditional format! Children will shop the stalls in the school hall in their family groups, and will wrap the presents they choose with the help of our elves.
We hope that the children will enjoy the opportunity to have a Christmas secret to surprise their grown ups with!
Each gift is £2.50, and each child can purchase up to 2 gifts. Bookings will be available via Eduspot.
Donations of wrapping paper would be gratefully received.

For the first time in years we have produced a school tea towel! Each child in the school has drawn their own portrait - and those of the teachers! - and we think it looks brilliant. Dare we say it, the perfect gift for the loving relative in your child's life, and a lovely souvenir of their time in school.
Advance payments are available via Eduspot, each tea towel is £4, or you can buy 3 for £10. We expect delivery in early December.

As always we have a fabulous raffle lined up, with a 1st prize of £100 cash, and a selection of other brilliant prizes: to keep us warm this winter we've got vouchers for a free boiler service, a chimney service so we can keep the home fires burning, and a load of logs to put on the fires!
There's a Wanderlust necklace up for grabs, Boden vouchers, a free massage, and all sorts of great prizes.
Tickets will be coming home in your child's book bags early next week, so please keep an eye out for them. The raffle draw will be Friday 9th December.

And finally! There is a super easy way to support the PTFA in fundraising for the school and that's simply shopping online! We have both an Amazon smile account and an Easyfundraising account. There is no additional cost to you, if you just shop through the link - and share with your family and friends for them to do the same - we receive a donation on every transaction!

We hope that there will be something here that brings you or your children pleasure over this half term, and enable us to raise some funds for the school. We are always grateful for your support.
