School Partnership Update

Thank you to those of you who were able to attend the meet and greet with Governors on Tuesday evening. We will try to keep you up to date on the progress with the partnership between Bishops Tawton Primary and Langtree Community Primary School.

The parents in attendance were pleased to hear that allocated funding has meant that if teachers and leaders are supporting at the other school we are able to back fill their time here with qualified teachers, in particular with teachers already employed at the school and known to the children. This also allows the children to access expertise across the curriculum. Other staff time has been claimed as extra days for them, therefore not impacting negatively upon their classes.

I am based at Langtree at the beginning of the week and at BT at the end of the week but am always available if needed at either setting. This is in place for two terms while both governing bodies work together to decide a sustainable future for both schools within a shifting landscape of school structures and political agendas. Any firm decisions will be consulted on in due course.

We will keep the partnership as a standing item on the parent forum agenda.

The next meeting date for parent forum is Wednesday 9th February at 6pm in the school hall, everyone is welcome to join and/or contribute via our parent forum representatives.
