Lundy Summer Term 2022

I am so proud of my class this week.  The Y6 children have approached their SATs with such a great attitude; they have used their resilience and independence as learners, to work to the best of their ability – I couldn’t have asked any more from them.  Also, the Y5’s have shown how hard they can work and how independent they can be.  They have been a great role model for younger children.

In maths we have been using our addition and subtraction skills to solve word problems.

We have written stories, using a picture for a stimulus.

We have looked at the art work of Beatriz Milhazes and learnt about the inspiration behind her painting and collage.

We have created powerpoints about flowering plants and plant reproduction.  We uploaded videos that we had made to make them more interactive.

In maths we have been using our addition and subtractions skills to solve problems and using rounding to estimate.

We have been finding out key facts about an inspirational person and plotting out their life in preparation to write a biography.

In science we have been planning and creating a video to show how plants reproduce.

In maths we have been solving problems involving decimals and percentages.  The Y6 have been revising lots of different topics.

We have been familiarising ourselves with key features of biographies in preparation to write our own about an inspirational person.

In science we have been revisiting previous learning on flowering plants.

Our geography learning has been focused on finding out about Brazil as this term topic is called ‘Carnival’.
