This week the children have been working really hard to create their own books inspired by the paper bag prince story we have been working on.
We have also been work on practice our times tables in maths.
Year 5 have had an exciting week as they have had sports leader training and they have completed their bikeability course!

This week we have been working on our final stories inspired by the story of the paper bag prince, the children have been really imaginative with their ideas, which has been great to read.

In maths we have been focusing on developing our column subtraction skills and in topic we have learnt about different time zones and how symbols are used in Christianity to celebrate different things.

This week in English the children have started to plan their final piece of writing based on our focus book this sequence, the paper bag prince.

In maths the children have been using their addition and subtraction skills to solve problems.

In topic, the children have been learning about longitude and latitude and how we use it to locate different areas of earth.

This week Exmoor class have continued to work hard on using a variety of conjunctions in English and they have written some fantastic recreations of our class text the paper bag prince.

In maths we have started our new sequence focusing on addition and subtraction.

Finally, in art we have been completing our final pieces inspired by the art work of Peter Thorpe and in geography we have been learning about the different hemispheres and what life is like on the equator.

This week in English we have started our new sequence focused on the story of the paper bag prince. In maths we have learnt all about roman numerals and investigated them and in topic we have been working on developing our perspective skills in art. We have also done lots of different activities celebrate world book day.

Exmoor have had a fantastic final week of this half term, they have worked really hard on their final pieces of writing for their English sequence about 24 hours in the Amazon rainforest. We have also continued our maths sequence and have been focusing on decimal numbers. In topic, we have been creating our own designs for our space art work inspired by Peter Thorpe.

Exmoor class have been working really hard this week. They have continued to develop their descriptive writing skills by planning and writing their own reports about a day in the African savannah and the animals that live there. In maths the children have been developing their division skills. Finally, in science the children have been categorising different objects into opaque, transparent and translucent.

This week Exmoor have continued investigating light in science and in math’s we have continued to explore multiplication and division. 

In English we have started a new sequence and are developing our skills to write a chorological report.

This week in English the children have written some fantastic poems of their own about animals using similes and metaphors. In maths we have continued our sequence on multiplicative reasoning and in science we created an experiment to test how light travels.

7-1-2022

Exmoor children have settled back into school life and routine well this week after the excitement of the holidays. As a class we are beginning to work on becoming more resilient in our learning, enabling us to take on challenges.

In English the children have begun to explore poetry inspired by famous artwork and in maths the children have started to investigate factors and multiples.

In science we have started to investigate light and who developed the first light bulb.
