COVID 19 - 19th March

Dear Parents/carers,
As the government has now announced that schools will close for the vast majority of children at the end of the school day on Friday we are considering how best to support our families and planning the best course of action for our Pre-school.

Moving forward, the role of Bishops Tawton school will be to provide care for vulnerable children and children of parents who feel they are key workers and need child care in order to continue to work. We await a list of key workers from the cabinet today but it is likely to include:

Staff who work for the NHS
Staff working in adult social Care, care homes, care providers
Children's social care
Police
Teachers/school education staff
Delivery workers

We hope to be able to establish which families this applies to over the next two days so that we can determine which children will be needing school care. * If you feel you meet this criteria and will require your child to continue their sessions at Pre-school please inform the school as soon as possible by email and we can then contact you with the next steps.

Other precautions should continue to be taken if some one in your household shows symptoms, these can be found here.

I am sure there are lots of questions that you will have at this difficult time, unfortunately we are not in the position to provide comprehensive answers to all of them but are doing all that we can to support the community and to do the best for the children.

Thank you for supporting us during this time and for showing your understanding.

Best wishes
Mrs Smallwood
