Bishops Tawton School aims to:

create a caring environment so that children are happy to come to school and enjoy a friendly atmosphere.
recognise the need of every individual by encouraging self-confidence, self-esteem, self-motivation, self-control and independence.
operate a sound and consistent approach to discipline. We encourage respect for others and their property, a commitment to good manners, team spirit and an acceptable level of behaviour at all times.
acknowledge those who show consideration for others and withdraw privileges from those who behave in a antisocial manner.
actively encourage continuing home school liaison by involving the families of the children in many ways and as often as possible.
recognise the importance of Christian worship and Religious Education in the development of the whole child and we seek to encourage a sensitive understanding of, and a respect for, other religious beliefs.
